 (A BIT) ABOUT ME

I am a filmmaker originally from Knoxville, TN and a BFA graduate in Film and Television from the Savannah College of Art and Design. For as long as I can remember, movies have been a key passion of mine, going back as far as 20 years when I used to literally watch Disney's Mulan on repeat. Although my concentration is on writing and directing, I have experience in a variety of disciplines.

I think the most important job anyone could have is to be a purveyor of stories. The reason the arts are so important in our culture is because everyone, regardless of status, class, or identity, loves to find pieces of themselves in someone else. The idea of being seen and understood is an innate human desire that is seldom acknowledged, but often felt. This concept represents the very foundation of who I am as an artist.

I think of my work as an intimate study on the human condition–the experience of being alive. I am fascinated by people and all of the intricacies that shape us into the individuals we are.  Through the characters and stories I create, my ultimate goal is to analyze the many complexities of humanity and reshape the mundane into something significant in service of those who feel their stories are not worth telling.
